The group arrives at the cabins, settling into their new environment. They set up a campfire for ghost stories and Zack gets the feeling as though they're being watched as strange noises accompany the group through the night. 01
Greg makes his appearance, sparking immediate tension with his condescending behavior. An old lady, Agnes, and her grandson make a random appearance, warning the group they should leave as there is something dangerous and ancient in the woods lately, bringing up not to disturb the spirits. 02
The group splits up for activities, finding more unsettling signs while Greg continues to antagonist the group, mocking them for thinking something supernatural could be in the woods with them. Zack and Rosie set for a hike early in this chapter and are gone for the rest of it, instead focusing on Jeremy. 03
While out hiking, Zack and Rosie run into a second set of cabins, meeting a second group consisting of New Confederate friends; Caleb, Trevor, Gavin, Henry, Damon, Lucas, and Charlie. They make friends while mixing with the group before heading back to their cabins, inviting the new group to join them at the lake the following day. 03
On their way back to their cabin, the sun sets, Rosie and Zack stumble across an old run down cabin with weird markings and figures around it before finding themselves getting chased by something in the woods, making him wonder if the tales of creatures are myth or reality. 03
The group enjoys a peaceful day on the water, though Zack can't get over the experience he and Rosie had last night. Jeremy and Greg take some time away from the group to fish, where the two get into a small scuffle, with Greg showing just how aggressive he is. 04
Both groups join together for a large campfire, sharing facts of their lives and what has brought them to the point they are in their lives. Zack shares an interest with one of the girls from the second group. Music, dancing, games. 04
The group experiences weird tapping sounds across the cabin shortly after the second group had went home and things quieted down. The power seems to go out, and there are scratching sounds, and howls. They try to rationalize the noises, but fear and paranoia start to set in. 04
The start of the fifth day is where things really start to get weird, where the group finds markings across their cabins and car, with a strange trail leading from their grounds into the woods. Turner seems to be missing causing the group to blame Greg with a confrontation happening, with Jeremy and Calvin jumping the guy before a scream is heard from the hill. 05
Running into the woods, following the trail, Zack recognizes the surroundings as he sees the markings on the trees before the group run into the old run-down cabin he and Rosie had found before. Finding Turner laying on it's porch, drugged up, unable to move. The group get into an argument about what happened, however when Greg reappears with a gun, threatening the group before he is taken out by the old lady's grandson, with the group leaving him to fend for himself. 05
Getting back to their cabin, they immediately go for their car, leaving their stuff, quickly rushing away from the cabins, wanting to get away from Greg and whatever had been messing with them. However along the drive away, a deer appears out of nowhere, hitting the car and causing them to drive off into the ditch, flipping the car. 05
Waking up some time later, Zack looks around but Calvin tries to keep him resting, he had been unconscious for nearly an hour, indicating a concussion, if not something worse. As he's laying down, he overhears that Greg had passed them earlier in his vehicle, flipping them off. Night finally falls over the mountain and the group are forced to camp out in the flipped car. 05
Taking the pov of Charlie from the second group, he is informed that Zack and the others had a car wreck and needed to get to the hospital. He meets up with them and takes them down to Cedar Hollow, where Zack and Rosie are taken for care, with Calvin and Emmaline waiting for them. Charlie, Turner, Jeremy, and Felecia head to the bar for a drink, but when the police show up, for what they assume is a report, they are instead placed in cuffs, citing that Greg had said they assaulted him, causing Jeremy to throw a tantrum, swinging his arms which the cops claim was attempted assault, only taking him to jail. 06
Calling up his friends, Charlie explains the situation and heads back to update Calvin and Emmaline, with this chapter really focusing on a breather and showing everyone's emotions about everything that has happened. 06
The Last Light When Zack wakes up to see the clock says it's 8 o'clock, he finds it odd that there is no light outside, it's not until he leaves his room that it's revealed the world is going into a panic over the apparent loss of the sun, which is accompanied by a seemingly endless rain that is covering the world. Returning to his sister, he discovers that Rosie just needed a few stitches and that Calvin went to have a chat with Jeremy about the world situation. A few sink holes appear near the town that seem to go on forever, causing Zack to think it goes to hell and that all of this ties to the weird markings and experiences they had, causing him to have Charlie take him and Emmaline back up the mountain to find the old crone, Agnes. 07
Taking Calvin's pov, an earthquake rocks the town while he talks with Jeremy, causing him to ??
