Bima Sakti
From Harthorns-Reverie
Bima Sakti, often shortened to Sakti, is the galaxy in which humanity origins. It's home to billions of stars.
Political Landscape
In the tract of the galaxy, with so many different forms of life vying for control over it's resources to further advance their society, it has been split into several political divisions.
Frontier | Entente | Association | League | Coalition | Throng | Conglomerate |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
The celestial frontier, an ocean of systems which have yet to have a sapient species achieve post-system or galactic travel. | Ententes are the alliances between the factions of systems. | Associations are the political factions that tie Ententes together. It's through the Associations that the Ententes get their words to the League. They typically tend to be types of oligarchies. | One of the oldest political bodies in the galaxy, the League has at one time held dominance over nearly 80% of it, however after the League's Fracture epoch and Second Galactic War, it has been reduced to a fraction of what it had been.
The League is spans several quadrants which are broken into sectors. These sectors house the system ententes that make up the citizens of the Leauge. |
Coalitions are the various political alliances that were formed out of the Associations which separated from the League. | Throng are the wild chaotic crowd ruled anarchy bodies which inhabit the further reaches of the Elegma and Jall quadrants. Most often cosmopolitans ruled by gangs, sin runs amuck within the generally agreed borders of Throngs. | Corporate conglomerates that own entire systems. |
Coordination and Mapping systems
The vast tract of space, known as 'the stars', has been broken into several layers to help with navigation. Below are the different forms of compass used for navigation.
Planet Compass | System Compass | Quadrant Compass | Galactic Grouping Compass | Galactic Cluster Compass |
---|---|---|---|---|
A compass that reads the coordinates of a collection of planets and their satellites in orbit around stars, together with smaller bodies in the form of asteroids, meteroroids, and comets. | A compass that reads the coordinates of a system of millions or billions of stars, together with gas and dust, held together by gravitational attraction.
Kaluh, Elegma, Novark, Jall |
A compass that reads the coordinates of group of galaxies, typically 50 or less. | A compass that reads the coordinates of a cluster of galaxies that can range from the hundreds to the thousands. |
