History

Born to a mother that didn't want him, Dean's first home was the maternity ward until a mysterious man adopted him. Taken to Quinn's Market, an underground lab that made illegal D.M.s who were then sold to the highest bidder.

Known as Number 15 within the lab, he was observed, experimented on, and cloned several times until he was fourteen, when he used his powers to break out of the facility. Letting himself loose on a world he barely knew anything about.

The next three years of his life was spent as a miscreant and borderline terrorist in some situations, and was soon caught, being sent to Garner State Prison, where he was rehabilitated. One year of failed prison breaks and bad food later, he was sent to another, more secure facility, Hilmand Correctional Center.

Chapter 01:

Just a few days after arriving at Hilmand Correctional Center, Dean is one of the inmates who leads the riot during a meteor shower which took out the facilities electrical grid, allowing for several prisoners to escape.

Detonation

Dean secrets sulfur, which he is able to compress and upon striking something with his hands is able to turn into an explosion.

Core Ability

A volatile ability that allows Dean to channel and release explosive energy from his body. The energy is derived from the fusion of multiple souls within him, which creates a constant, unstable reservoir of power. The explosive force is localized, often originating from where he makes contact with a surface or another person.

Mechanics

   Energy Generation:
The explosive energy is a byproduct of Dean’s fused souls. The friction and instability between the spliced souls act as a kind of internal combustion engine, generating power that Dean can release on contact.
The energy manifests as a sudden, concussive burst that affects both the target and Dean himself. While it’s incredibly destructive, it’s also unpredictable and can harm Dean if used recklessly.
   Contact-Based Activation:
The energy can only be released upon direct contact with a target. This makes Dean’s power inherently close-range and forces him to rely on physical engagement.
For example, if Dean touches an enemy’s chest, the energy will detonate at the point of contact, causing severe localized damage (e.g., shattered bones, torn flesh, etc.).
   Area of Effect:
The size and intensity of the explosion depend on Dean’s focus and the duration of the contact. A brief touch might result in a small, concentrated blast, while sustained contact could trigger a larger, more destructive explosion.
   Physical Toll:
Each use of Eaftousia drains Dean physically and mentally. The energy comes with recoil, often throwing Dean backward or causing burns to his hands or body.
Overuse can lead to exhaustion, fainting, or long-term damage to his own body, such as internal injuries or scarring.

Limitations

   Suppressive Tech:
As seen with the collars, ZerdinTech has developed technology to suppress abilities like Eaftousia. This means Dean’s power can be disabled or muted under certain conditions.
After suppression is removed, his power often takes time to return, as the soul-spliced energy needs to “recalibrate.”
   Lack of Precision:
Dean’s power is inherently chaotic. While he can direct it to a degree, controlling the intensity or radius of the explosion requires immense focus, something he’s still learning to master.
   Close-Combat Dependency:
The need for physical contact makes Dean vulnerable to ranged attackers or enemies who can maintain distance.
   Emotional Triggering:
The fused souls within Dean can amplify his emotions, making his power harder to control when he’s angry, scared, or under extreme stress. Accidental detonations are a constant risk.
   Burnout:
Prolonged use or large-scale detonations can lead to burnout, a state where Dean’s body temporarily loses its ability to channel energy, leaving him vulnerable.

Advanced Potential

As Dean grows and learns to control his abilities, he may unlock advanced uses of Eaftousia. Here are some ideas for how his powers could evolve:

   Precision Explosions:
Instead of a chaotic burst, Dean could learn to channel his energy into precise, controlled detonations, allowing for surgical strikes.
   Kinetic Redirection:
Dean might develop the ability to absorb incoming energy (like a punch or projectile) and redirect it outward in a controlled explosion.
   Enhanced Mobility:
By releasing energy beneath his feet, Dean could propel himself forward or upward, using the force to enhance his speed and agility.
   Delayed Explosions:
With practice, Dean might be able to plant a “charge” on a target, causing it to detonate after a delay.
   Dual Detonation:
Tapping into the conflict between his fused souls, Dean could unleash two simultaneous explosions, one from each hand, doubling his destructive capability at the cost of greater physical toll.

Visual and Sensory Details

Visuals: When Dean’s power activates, his veins glow faintly red, and his hands emit a shimmering heat haze. The explosion itself is accompanied by a bright, crimson flash.
Sound: Each detonation is marked by a sharp, thunderous crack, like a gunshot mixed with the roar of a fireball.
Feel: The air around him grows hot and charged, with a faint metallic tang accompanying the activation of his power.

Trivia

With memories of his original, Dean refuses to accept that he is actually a clone, with his original actually being Rufio Bardock.
