Following the actions of the Lanai 20, the Orsensakino trilogy is a story adjacent to Yoioshi Gradation.

Summary

Wake

The story starts on the 60th anniverary of Lanai's foundation.

Coming from an up-and-coming village which seeks to establish itself as a major power within the wastes, the Initiates are sent to Caipat, where they’re to set up deals with the city-folk.

A part of these deals is to show that they’re capable guardsmen, which forces them to take part with the Shishibuki.

After passing and becoming part of the official military for the Nagowara, the crew take odd jobs here and there, from escorts through the wastes, to minor guards for the political individuals.

One of the jobs has them enter a jungled area, where someone claims there is a warlord that has enslaved various entities. While there, they run into “Shark Sage”, who explains that there is constant warring of the feral people in the wastes, explaining this is why places like Caipat are necessary.

The first part ends with the Anken. A massive gladiator-like event where any Shishibuki can join in. During the event, Caipat gets attacked by Jitasashis, massive monsters.

Repose

In the aftermath of the Anken attack, the initiates return home to rest, however discover evidence that the Jitasashis was Lanai’s doing.

Questioning the evidence, Kuremu is jailed, where he meets Itari and crew. His friends come to rescue them, and they are explained that Itari and his crew are from Alutaku, another nation which was sent to do deals with Lanai; however, they were placed in a trap and imprisoned, with one of them being sacrificed.

Upon escaping, all of them are accused of being the ones responsible for the Jitasashis, with Chikai having been a part of the set up, having also been the one to kill Kuremu’s younger brother.

The crew go on the run, eventually finding safety in Alutaku, where they see Chiserieas, the pearl sea. In the center of the sea, is Mochinsei, growing larger than ever, with Alutaku’s goal being raising it to take back control over the earth, assuming it was a tree of life from before the war. Along with this, Alutaku is discovered to be home of Godorein, alien creatures from the blue planet.

Sovereignty

A great war is initiated, when members from Caipat appear at the edges of Alutaku and seek to burn down the tree.

Locations

Lanai

Lanai is a major settlement within the Seitoshi of Nagowara; founded by Hibiki Toshimoro, a legendary warrior with the expressed interest in forming a home outside the major bunkers, wanting to follow in the steps of Don Himagi and his effort to build the S.S.F. In order to do this, Hibiki brought with him 4 minor clans from Caipat; Ichihara, Hosoda, Sakatani, Yoshisawa, along with several non-clan citizens who sought a life outside the ruling clans in the bunkers.

The settlement would eventually be passed down to his nephews; Morimoto, who would oversee the production of resources, and Getsueikirite, who has focused on building a strong military presence.

60 years after its initial foundation, the leaders of the settlement

Seitoshi

Seitoshi is the name for the wilds that surrounds the settlements. It is filled with various dangers from animals to toxic waters.

Caipat

Alutaku

Alutaku is a country that has been built along side Sekashijin Toshi, using its warm waters to keep its people alive.

Sekashijin Tochi

Sekashijin is a massive sea with a black coloration, which while the surface holds boiling hot waters, several meters below that is a large sheet of dense superionic ice, hot to the touch. At the center of the sea is a massive tree; Mochinsei, which holds roots that bore deep into the ice, going further down and entering the Chiserieas. Various roots and branches from this tree has created a jungle where various species have created life on, inlcuding the Godoreins, Govon, Laontij, Eanbrussek, and Ejomiyt.

In the event that created the Sekashijin, a tear in the Trencoverse occurred, which formed Chiserieas: A sea of iridescent pearl cloud-like substance which seems to hold reality warping properties which is spread across the entirety of the lower crust.

Mochinsei is more than a tree, it's a sapient entity, which directly seeks to grow across the entirety of the earth. Birthed from Chiserieas, it is considered a tree of souls, with the collective want to heal the world.

Background Knowledge

Alutaku and Caipat held a high relationship until Caipat bore deep enough to open another area of Chiserieas. No longer requiring Alutaku for their Spectshrines, they broke their relationship off, taking away their access to the advanced tech held by Caipat.

Lanai offered to help Alutaku mend their relationship with Caipat, by closing their access to Chiserieas. This is the backdrop for the beginning of the story. Lanai decides to send its latest and brightest to Caipat, with only a handful of them being aware of the true goal, while the rest are under the idea that they're to build up relations with Caipat but showing their abilities to live and thrive in the Seitoshi.

The initiates who knew of this plan; Richaku Makita, Kanane Ichihara, Hayashi Ichihara, Kakkonosu Kaminaga, Chikai Bunkara. Tensakami Sakatani knows, but goes against it at the last second, knowing the plan will kill thousands of innocence; this leads Chikai to kill him after he fights Richaku and Kakkonosu.
