Scottishen began as a tongue-in-cheek creation of the Sluag, a gastropod species known for their wit and sharp sense of humor. The Sluag developed the language as a parody of humanity’s peculiar tendencies—particularly their penchant for convoluted naming conventions and expressive communication styles. What started as a satirical commentary on human culture was filled with exaggerated phrases, recursive jokes, and linguistic quirks meant to amuse the Sluag elite.
However, as human colonization expanded and mingled with Sluag-controlled territories, Scottishen found an unlikely audience: the fringe communities and underground networks of the Human Entente. Its exaggerated humor and flexible vocabulary resonated with smugglers, hackers, and rebels, who appreciated its irreverence and adaptability. Over time, what began as a racial satire morphed into a slang widely spoken in the shadowy corners of human-controlled space.
